THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW: 21st Anniversary Gold CD

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW:
Original Soundtrack 21st Anniversary Australian Gold CD

*CD*
1996, Festival Records, D 35698

This 24K Gold CD is basically an Australian release of the 24K Gold 20th Anniversary CD released in the U.S. with the special edition laserdisc of TRHPS. The main difference is that this CD features the following bonus tracks:

  • The Time Warp (1989 Extended Re-mix)
  • TRHPS Movie Trailer
  • TRHPS Radio Commercial (Riff-Raff)
  • TRHPS Radio Commercial (Belt You Around The Mouth)
  • Once In A While (NOT THE FILM VERSION! the version from the Original Roxy Cast album)
  • Sweet Transvestite (from TRHPS "Sing It!")

The CD comes in a special slipcase, and it's cover art is very similar to the 20th Anniversary TRHPS CD. The CD liner notes contain al the lyrics, as well as cast and production credits. However, the design of the booklet is pretty much duplicated from the TRHPS "Sing It!" CD. The layout of all the lyrics and pictures is identical to the TRHPS "Sing It!" CD, right down to the inclusion of Brad's 'Over At The Frankenstein Place' verse, which of course is **NOT** on this CD.
The main part of the CD (the soundtrack) is an exact copy of the 20th Anniversary TRHPS CD, including bits of dialogue in between the tunes. The only difference here is the inclusion of the slipcase for the CD case, and the addition of the extra "bonus" tracks. (Which by now, aren't really anything rare.)

However, if you're a collector, or just looking for one good CD copy of the soundtrack, this CD is pretty nice since it includes 'The Sword Of Damocles' (which is NOT the studio version, but the poor-quality version lifted from the film) and some extra tracks.

This is another CD that really does not offer anything new or rare, instead it's all previously released material presented in another package.

    *****AVAILABILITY*****
This limited-edition disc was only released in Australia and is now out-of print. Finding a copy in the US may be difficult. I'd try some stores carrying import and/or used CD's, or maybe some on-line shops in Australia.
