Little Nell's first major single is her best. Three great songs and a killer picture sleeve make this a must-have item.
The songs 'Do The Swim' and 'Stilettos And Lipstick' were originally released previously in 1975 in the UK by A & M Records Ltd. You can read about the first release of these songs HERE. However, the first single release of 'Do The Swim' and 'Stilettos And Lipstick' is EXTREMELY rare, making the versions on this single much more well-known.
This single was released in the UK on the A & M label, and in Australia on the Festival label, but it was never released in the US. There were two different pressings of this single: one on red vinyl and one on black vinyl.
All three songs on this disc are fabulous. ('Stilettos And Lipstick' is my all-time favourite Nell song, and one of my all-time Rocky Horror-related faves.) Nell filmed a promo video for 'Do The Swim' which was shown at some theatres as a pre-show bit to TRHPS, but I don't know of any theatres which show it with TRHPS today, although most fans and collectors have the video on tape.
It is also interesting that this recording was produced and written by the team of Richard Hartley and Brian Thomson, who both played a major part in the creation of TRHPS and SHOCK TREATMENT.
'Do The Swim' was featured on the Rocky Horror compilation Songs From The Vaults, which is available in The Rocky Horror Picture Show 15th Anniversary Box Set, and 'Stilettos And Lipstick' and 'Tropical Isle (Dance That Cocktail Latin Way') are both featured on the very rare limited edition bootleg CD Dark Refrains.
*****AVAILABILITY*****
This disc has been out-of-print for many years and is very difficult to find. There are quite a few copies of this disc around, but most people who own it are the fans who were around years ago when it was easier to find, or the die-hard junkies.
The best I can suggest is to get a cassette copy from someone who owns the disc. (Or, if you'd settle for just 'Do The Swim,' try getting a copy of Songs From The Vaults.)
