Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I have acted as Columbia in a cast for a long time. Recently, our theatre kicked us out. How can we act again?
-Danielle

Danielle, I feel really sorry for what you're going through. It's really hard sometimes to understand why theatres do what they do when it involves casts. There are casts that have performed in the same theatre for years, while there are some that have moved around on a regular basis. You are about to go on a journey that most casts fear... the search for a new theatre. It won't be an easy search, and there might be more dissappointment than happiness waiting for you. You need to talk to the Theatre Managers in your area and talk with them about your show. Before you talk to them, do a little research on the theatres that you are intersted in. Check their calendars or listings to see what films they seem to be interested in. While some theatres will have what appears to be the perfect place to perform, they might not be as into Rocky as you are. When you talk to them, always remember that you are, basically, selling the Theatre Manager your show and the film. If your pitch is something that he/she finds interesting, they'll be more ready to bring the film to their theatre. If there is another cast near you, talk with them to get their recommendations about which theatre to go to. Also, you could talk with the other cast about having, while you're still looking for your own theatre, members of your cast perform with theirs. This will make sure that your cast name stays in people's minds, and that your performers won't get "rusty" waiting for the new theatre. Good luck in your search. I know that all of your fellow casts will be hoping for you too.
