Jamie, there will be a Rocky Convention in New York City, but it won't be until next year. The tentaive dates that I have seen are for April 24-25, 1997, and it will be held, at least partially, at a club called The Vault. There will be all the normal convention things happening; costume competitions, raffles, booths, and complete showings of, with a live cast, of both Rocky and Shock Treatment. There are also rumours of a special guest that will be at the convention, but I'm not sure who it is. If you want to check for more information, try the Rocky newsgroup or The Official Shock Treatment Fan Club site, since many of their members are running this convention. I'm not sure if I will be there, but, if you go, I hope that you have fun.
