Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I heard that Richard O'Brien is going to be in the new "Spice Girls" movie. Is this true, and, if so, what part does he play?
-Magenta
Magenta, it looks like he will be in the movie. I couldn't find anything
on the name of the character or the size of the part, but he is joining
a very strange cast. Also scheduled to appear in the film are Gene
Wilder (Young Frankenstien), Richard E Grant (Withnail & I), Roger Moore
(all of those James Bond films), and, in a cameo role, Barry Humphries.
The release date is suppossed to be somewhere around Christmas, so, if
you hear someone screaming in pain and agony from the back of the
theatre, it'll probably be me. On a better film note, Richard will also
be in the new film DARK CITY, to be released September 19. He costars
with William Hurt, Keifer Sutherland, and Jennifer Connelly about a man
who wakes up in a strange hotel with no memories and is wanted for a
string of murders. As he searches for answers, he meets an underground
group called The Stangers who can stop time and alter the city and it's
inhabitants. Like the Spice Girl's movie, there is no information on the
role, but it will definately be nice to see Richard on the big screen
again.
