Dear Nurse Ansalong:
Do you know why "Sword Of Damocles" and "Planet Schmanet Janet" are not in the movie soundtrack? Also, what exactly is Frank's mission when Riff points out to him that his "mission is a failure"?
-Dazzler
Dazzler, to be honest, I'm not totally sure why the songs were left off. There might have been a question of the length of the album if those songs had been included. Also, the fact that "Planet Schmanet Janet" has the line "A mental mind fuck can be nice." might have been a cause to remove that song. There have been many changes since the film was originally released. Because it was felt to be "a downer" of an ending, "Super Heroes" and "Science Fiction Reprise" were removed from most prints of the film, but still found there way onto the soundtrack. The missing songs are on the 15th Anniversary Box Set, along with "Once In A While" a song that was recorded and filmed with Barry Bostwick, but cut due to time. Frank's mission, to me, is to be an advanced person for his home world of Transexual to take over the Earth. I think it was his job, along with Riff, Magenta, and the other Transylvanians, to subvert our world with their beliefs about sex and other enjoyable things. But, because Frank's lifestyle was too extreme and appeared to be getting worse,Riff and Magenta decided to retake control of the mission and return home.
