Dear Nurse Ansalong:
My mother is not letting me go to Rocky because she thinks I'm too young and it's corrupting me. I'm 15. How can I convince her otherwise?

Eo, your Mom has the normal preconceptions that a lot of parents have about Rocky Horror. They believe that it's all about sex, and that that's the only reason most people go. One way to get her to let you go is, if you have an older brother or sister, get them to take you. This could work with an older friend too. With the "adult" with you, she might feel that you'll have a little protection if anything were to happen. Another way would be to go in a large group. This follows the belief that, if anything happens, you'll have the group there to protect you. One last thing you could try is to try and talk a parent into going with you. While this would help her to relax a little more about letting her "young child" go to Rocky, the only way that you can prove that it won't corrupt you is, if you do get to go, come back home and act the same way as before you went. It might take you a little time to build up her trust, but the more you try, the better chance you'll have to get to go.
