Dear Nurse Ansalong:
Some of the Rocky Horror Show's songs were sung differently in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. In the new Rocky Horror Show, are the songs sung how they were in the original play, or how they were in the movie?
-Livilla
Livilla, while I'm not really sure what you mean by the "new" Rocky Horror Show, there are differences between the film and play that change depending on the performance. In the original productions of the play, "Sweet Transvestite" comes before "Time Warp". There are productions that do it this way and some that use the film's song order. Also, there are parts of songs that are totally removed or changed. The stage version of "I'll Make You A Man" has many different verses from the film version. Brad's lines in "Over At Frankenstein's Place" and Crim's lines in "Sword Of Damocles" didn't make it into the film, but are in most stage productions. Also, there's "Once In A While", Brad's song that would have appeared before "Toucha". Like I said, I'm not sure what the people putting on the version of the play you are talking about will do, but, if it's like the performances that I have seen, then I know you'll have fun.
