Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I am 14 years old and I have been into Rocky Horror for about a year. I am so obsessed with it and all of my friends think its totally weird! Since seeing the show in the theatre, I have found transvestites to be very attractive. Does that mean I am bisexual???
-RHPS Fanatic

Fanatic, no matter what any parent's group, psychologists, religious figure, or anyone else you could talk to will say, no one becomes bisexual just from watching Rocky Horror or anything else for that matter. It might help to bring out feelings that are inside of you, but a film could not turn you into something that you are not. Your sexuality, whatever it may be, comes from your heart and mind. It can't be put there by a book, a film, or a piece of music. And it's a natural thing to think of someone of the same sex as attractive, be this person a transvestite, your teacher, or the garbage man. I'm not a lesbian or bisexual, but I find both Columbia and Magenta to be very attractive to me. One of the things that got me into performing in the first place was how attractive Nell looks as Columbia. These feelings have stayed with me, and they are just as true now as they were when I first had them. You are at an age right now when all of your ideas and feelings are changing, and it's normal to be confused or scared. As you grow older, you'll learn about your feelings and how you really feel about everything that is around you. If you give yourself some time to "live in your body" and see how you feel, I think that you'll start to feel better.
