Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I have been going out with this girl for about two weeks. I like her a lot, and she likes me. I think about her day and night. Every time I go to kiss her, or put my arm around her, it seems like she moves away. What am I doing wrong? What can i do?
-Billy Bob

Billy, the first thing that I would advice you to do is to relax. People have different ideas about relationships. What to one person is simple affection could be seen by the other as groping. If you try to kiss your girlfriend and she pulls away from you, she might not be ready for that yet. Also, there are people who have a problem with touching a lot. The next time that the two of you are together and this happens, ask her what is wrong. Let her tell you why she is reacting the way that she is. Sometimes, a simple conversation can help to build a more comfortable atmosphere. Since you said that the both of you really care about each other, this discussion could bring the two of you even closer. If you give her a little space and time to get comfortable with being intimate with you, I think the two of you will be alright.
