Dear Nurse Ansalong:

My question is that I am 25 and I am tired of being single. I live in San Diego, CA and I can't get out much due to my job. Where should I look for a life long partner? I am so tired of being single...
-Billy

Billy, there are many of us out in the world that feel the same way that you do. Yours truely is also one of that not so select group. It seems like it takes forever to finally find someone that you are interested in romantically and then it only takes a second for the whole relationship to happen. Being single has it's good sides but it's long, slow boring parts tend to leave something to be desired.

There are a lot of places to look for that someone special. You could go to some of your favorite places and see if there is anyone there that you feel attracted to. Since there is the possibility of similar interests, it could help the two of you to start up a conversation.

If that doesn't work out, there are free local newspapers in every city with Classifieds that include a Personals section. Placing an ad in one of these could get your message out to even more of the people that you are trying to win over. Some of these may charge for ad placement, but it's probably a lot cheaper than trying to place an ad in a major paper. You can usually find newspapers like these at local establishments, including most small businesses and places like record shops.

There is another avenue that you can use to find that "special someone" - The Internet. There are several sites online that provide you with all that you need to put yourself out there for anyone eligible to pick you out of the crowd. Yahoo has a very popular Personals section that is easy to sign up for. I've had a couple friends use the services of Match.com and come away happily dating someone. If you go this route, be ready to pay a monthly membership fee until you cancel, but they also offer specials like Match.com's "7 Day Trial Period" so you might be able to get it done without even having to pay.

I hope that some of these suggestions helped you. There are many of us who know from where your feelings came so don't feel like you're all alone. Now, if there was someone that might be interested in a certain Nurse, it would definately brighten my day a little...
