Dear Nurse Ansalong:

I really like RHPS but everyone else I know doesn't. They don't really understand why I like it. My Dad thinks I am a little psycho and says stupid stuff like that it's about transvestites and faggots. He thinks I am taking this a bit too far, but so what if I have the movie memorized, own the soundtrack, collect RHPS action figures, and can tell you anything you ever wanted to know about it? But it isn't all about faggots! It really pisses me off when people jump to conclusions and assume it is all about transvestites! Do you know what I am saying. There are more themes to the movie. AAHH!!! @#$%@# And the people I hang out with and also people at church don't understand me. I am somewhat of a loner because no one else shares this interest. It pisses me off. Any help? What should I do? Maybe I need to go to Dentonvale!
-Wendy

Wendy, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but you might just have to put up with other people's stupidity and shortmindedness for now. You can't force someone to change the way that they feel about a given thing. Once those have been set, it becomes very hard to change them.

That being said, you can try to change the way that your friends and family view your "obsession" about RHPS. First off, try to talk to them about why they feel and think the ways that they do about the film. This might be hard at first due to their misconceptions about the film, but, if you perservere and try hard, you might just be able to shift a few people's thinking around.

Another way to show your "RHPS obsession" to your friends and family in a better light is to not give up on it just because the people around you don't get it like you do. By sticking to it and showing that this is something that you are really and truely into, you can show all those people that just think this is some kind of feeling that you'll grow out of how wrong they are.

I hope that you can work through the narrow minds around you and continue to enjoy something that brings pleasure to your life. And, if you do ever wind up here at Dentonvale, I'll be sure to have Rest Home Ricky fluff up some extra soft pillows for your bed.
