Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I've heard over and over again that if you are confident and think you look good other people will think so too. Somehow, I've always thought this was bullshit. What about you? What do you think of this?
-Miss Vice
Miss Vice, I agree with that belief, but with a few misgivings. I do believe that, if you are confident about yourself and your place in the world, then the people around you will tend to notice this. My main misgiving about that idea is that it doesn't matter how much you 'wear' on the outside to make yourself look confident. If you aren't feeling that way on the inside then none of your outer self will be able to hide what your inner self is going through. I spent many years trying to get myself in order, but, over time and from many life lessons, I'm now at a point that, even though I know that I'm not perfect, I feel confident about myself. If you're not believing this yet, it might be that you're still getting to the point that you feel totally confident. Like I said, it took me awhile to reach the point that I'm at now, so you might not want to dispell that belief so quickly... ; )
