Dear Nurse Ansalong:
RHPS has seriously helped me in coming out to everyone, as well as being honest with myself about my sexuality. However, I am DEEPLY offended by the punk ass people who have or find no meaning to the movie except going to the theater and mocking the songs. Is it wrong to be offended by this sort of thing?
-Jabberwocky
Jabberwocky, it's totally within your rights to be offended by these people. RHPS and it's surrounding world are very important to you, so you should be allowed to feel exactly the way that you do...
... but, even though you don't agree with them, the people that are offending to you also have the right to come to the theatre and say and do what they want, as long as they aren't causing any problems. I know that it sounds wrong, but everyone has the right to feel and believe what they want, even if it doesn't agree with what others think.
That doesn't mean that you can't call all of these people on their statements or actions at the show. If they're disrespecting something that you feel strongly about, then tell them. You don't have to give out your life story, but, if your beliefs and convictions are in the right place, then the other people who are at the show will believe your feelings even more. You might even be able to convert some of those 'noisy troublemakers' into people that agree with you.
