Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I'm really interested in starting a my own cast. I have most of the cast together, we have a theater, but there is just one problem. We don't have the film. Where can I get the film and are there any royalties or things like that to pay?

FrankieFan, it depends on the theatre. If you took the normal route, then it's usually the theatre that takes care of the print. They order it and take care of it inbetween shows. They also pay the rental fee to the distibution house providing the print. This is where the revenue that you bring into the theatre for your show is so important. If the theatre can't afford to pay for the print and keeping the theatre open late, then they might decide that it's more cost effective to go without RHPS.

There is another way to get a theatre, but this one is a little more risky. If you rented out a theatre and are paying a certain amount every week to the theatre manager, then you'll probably have to get the print. However, you'll have to pay for the print rental fee along with the theatre rental fee out of whatever the show makes in ticket sales. If you don't cover costs, you could end up owing a lot of money.

Whichever way you get a print, congratulations on getting a theatre for your show and I hope that your cast will be performing for a long time to come. And make sure that you save a seat for me... ; )
