Dear Nurse Ansalong:
Why are Cosmo and Nation so nasty to Nurse Ansalong? As far as I can see - the only crime she has committed is being as happy as she is! Why is that? She comes off as some kind of Prozac dependant! How does she stay so bubbly and cheerful when she is being treated badly by Cosmo and Nation?
-Insane Inside Insanity

Insanity, to me, the reason behind the way Cosmo and Nation treat Ansalong is that they are just on a power trip and, aside from Rest Home Ricky, Nurse A is the only other person that they have direct control over. They are her bosses and they aren't going to let Nurse A forget it. That being said, I don't think she's quite the Prozac case that you refer to her as. In several scenes, like when she advises Janet about not signing the contract or during her part of "Lullaby", it's very obvious that there is something going on in her mind that not even Cosmo and Nation's power trips can stop. She might seem a little ditzy or absent minded, but this could just be a defense mechanism to fake out her bosses from the real person beneath the nurse's uniform...
