Dear Nurse Ansalong:
If you were to recast RHPS tomorrow (in time for release on the 25th anniversary), who would you choose? Who in your opinion is the "new" Tim Curry to play Frank? (And please don't say you'd maintain the original -- the thought of a 50+ year old Susan crooning Toucha is quite shocking!!!)
-Notary Public
Notary Public, to be totally honest, I really can't think of anyone being able to do better than the people in the original film. It might be the fact that, for most of the people involved, it was their first films, but they all seemed to be a little more open to performing in a way that many more experienced performers wouldn't dare.
That being said, there are two people that I would love to see or have seen as Frank in the play. I'm not sure how popular this would be with other people in the RHPS world, but I think that Ruprett Everet and the late Michael Hutchence have the sort of personality and charisma to play the part. But that's just me. Personally, I think I would have a heart attack and die if someone was to cast me in any RHPS or ST remake. Getting to tap dance on stage for the RHS has been a dream of mine and I, like probably everyone else involved in the RHPS world, would be amazed to have that one come true.
