Dear Nurse Ansalong:
Where are the original costumes from RHPS and ST now? I realize they're probably not all in one place, but do you have any ideas about where they might be, like at Hard Rock Cafes?
-BettyJ

BettyJ, with a big thanks and extreme grovelling to Ricky for a load of research help, here's a current known list. one thing before i begin... there is no guarentee that these objects are still currently at these places. This is just the information that we have at this current time.

The Play

- Dori Hartley has some of the original Frank pieces from the Rocky Horror Show (not totally sure which version, perhaps the Belasco) including the Frank cape.

- Sue Blane saved one of the original Rocky Horror Show shoes and has mentioned that she had given everything else she had away

The Movie

- The Rocky shorts were seen at the Hard Rock Cafe in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this past August. They tend to move their exhibits from place to place on a regular basis, so they might be in a new location or in storage somewhere waiting for an open space.

- The Time Warp chart was given to the Planet Hollywood chain. They move their stuff around too, so there's no telling where it is now.

- Brian Thompson supposedly still has the Columbia hat and a few other pieces as well. He took a bunch to an early convention and let people try them on. I think that I would have fainted if I got to put on the actual hat! He let one fan wear the hat to a party, but the fan had a lousy time because the whole time he was terrified he would damage the hat.

- Sal Piro, at one point, had two pieces; he took the pink Janet dress and he used to have the Crim coat, but it was given to someone for safe keeping and has since disappeared.

- The Eddie jacket is in a private collection. Meat Loaf had it, but it was siezed with the rest of his assets when he was sued. It surfaced recently as a piece in a museum exhibit with the photos being sold on eBay.

- Tim Curry owned the Frank motorcycle jacket, which appeared in the play and the film. He presumably still has it.

- Some props have been sold; the whip Frank uses in the film went at auction several years ago for a couple hundred dollars.

- Betzi Vojtko, who ran the fanzine Rocky Horror Shoptalk for several years, inherited pieces from the Rocky Horror Shop (Alan Hiero's shop), which at one time included one of Frank's floor show shoes from the film. She may have sold some of the pieces by now.

- Sue Blane brought one of Riff's space boots to the Florida con in 1978 as a prize.

- The throne is supposedly still owned by 20th Century Fox, but it hasn't been seen since the 15th Anniversary.

There currently isn't any known info about any ST props being out and available. I hope that this helped you out.
