Dear Nurse Ansalong:
Do you think it's apropriate for a 12 year old like me to put on a production of ROCKY HORROR with my friends? We love the show and movie. We will take out the sex scenes between Frank and Janet, and Frank and Brad, and "Touch Me", but that's it. Is it OK?

Curious, this is an interesting question. While it is a lot tamer than most of the films that get an R rating nowadays, I'm not sure if it's appropriate for someone at your age to be putting on. Even with the obvious sex scenes removed, there is still a lot of sexual innuendo running through it to cause a little worry. I've also seen people bring their young sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, etc to the show and it didn't seem to have any adverse affects on them. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think that there is anything inherently wrong with 12 year olds putting on a production of RHS (or RHPS), but I'm very hesitant to give a total OK to it. I hope that that made some sense and that I was able to help you.
