Why does Rocky sound so different during the floorshow on the Audience Participation album? And why does Magenta sound so different during Toucha? These two spots especially sound really different from the video version.

Unknown, the reason that they sound different is because, while the AP album was recorded with a cast watching a mono sound print, the prints that are most often shown around the world today are in stereo. When they made the stereo print, they went back in and remastered all of the music and sounds in the film to make them all sound "correct". How "correct" the sound really is depends on who you ask. Two of the places that you can hear the most differences between the two prints are Toucha and the Floor Show. So, you're ears aren't decieving you and there is a sound difference.
