Dear Nurse Ansalong:
How could I get a local theater to play the RHPS? Is there a certain store where I can find the costumes for the RHPS? I have been to all the stores and I haven't been able to find that even remotely resmbles the costumes.

Christina, you'll need to do your homework before you try to get a theatre to show the film. You're going to need to sell the Theatre Manager on showing the film and that he/she would make money. If you don't already have a group of people that you know are interested and devoted, you might want to send out a message on the internet or around your city about bringing in the film. Several groups across the country have collected signatures of people who want the film to use to intice the Theatre Managers in their areas. If the Manager seems nervous about the movie, think about being creative and working with the theatre to bring in the audience. This would include advertising, special shows, and, depending on the nervousness of what the condition of the theatre will be after the show, you could offer to have a probationary period to allow the Theatre to get used to the show.
You'll be looking for a long time if you try to find all of the RHPS costumes at your local stores. Even characters that have simpler costumes, like Crim, Dr. Scott, or the Transylvanians, still have large pieces that aren't for sale anywhere. Most of the performers that I have met either made their costumes by hand or altered a piece of clothing considerably after it was purchased. I'm still not sure if my hands have recovered from when I hand-sewed my Columbia jacket. What you should probably try to do is to not look for something that looks exactly like the costume piece that you're looking for. Instead, look for something that is close enough to be altered or go to your local fabric stores to find patterns to make your costumes. Whatever you wind up finding, you should definately be ready to do some sewing and work to get your costume right. Good luck!
