Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I was wondering about the movie, what is the purpose of Frank seducing Brad and Janet? And what happens to Brad, Janet, Dr. Scott, Rocky, and Columbia when they are put in stine? Before they are frozen they hate Frank, then they are released and have an orgy with him. I don't get it. Also, you have said that Brad is "confused" about what happens to him, then why doesn't he seem so confused when he gives in to Frank's advances in the bedroom scene? And one last question, after what happened that night, what do you think are the odds that Brad and Janet would actually get married?
-The Furious One
Furious, here's my answers to your questions...
1) I think that Frank seduces Brad and Janet to bring them over to his side. It seems that Frank has had multiple sexual partners (Columbia, Eddie, and Rocky) and he probably thought that he'd add them to his conquests. Then, Brad and Janet might not want to leave the castle because of their strong feeling of lust for Frank, which would add more choices for pleasure available for Frank. If Rocky is asleep and Columbia isn't interested right now, he'd have Brad and Janet to choose from too.
2) This is one of those "not well explained" parts of the film that is actally shown in the play. In the play, all of the Floor Show participants are drugged instead of turned to stone, which would explain why they find Frank attractive all over again. It also looks like some members of the cast aren't in control of their actions durning the film's Floor Show. Columbia's movements look like she's moving by remote control and Brad seems to have no clue why he's moving the way that he is.
3) When I said that Brad is "confused", I meant during the Floor Show. Each character's solo during that scene is colored by a certain emotion. For Brad, it sounds like, to me, that he's confused by what's happening around him and why he feels that way that he does. For why he gives in to Frank's seduction, it could be that Frank brought out a side of Brad's personality in that bedroom that he didn't know was inside him. This could also add in to Brad's general sense of confusion and nervousness (Watch his reactions when Frank mentions to Dr. Scott about how Brad is "adaptable") that slowly builds around him until the truth comes out.
4) It depends on their mental states as they recover from the night in the castle. If they continue to see each other as the loved ones that they were before the misadventure, then they would have a good shot at getting married. If what came out in the castle confused them enough or they blamed each other for the way that events unfolded, then their whole relationship could fall apart.
