Bubba, here's my best answers for you... 1) There has never been an explanation of where exactly Denton is. There have been people who have placed it in Texas and some in the Illinois/Indiana area. The thing is is that there, I believe, 7-10 Dentons within the continental US. Since there has never been word on where in the US the story takes place, you can take your pick for which state Denton is in. 2) For this, you'll just have to believe in what's called "dramatic liscence". It might not be logical, but it does look good on screen. 3) To me, Riff continually wants to be the dominate person in their relationship. Every time Magenta starts to feel full of herself in the film, Riff pops up and shoves her back down, physically and mentally. The relationship in RHPS between Riff and Magenta looks interesting in relation to Cosmo and Nation in SHOCK TREATMENT. Instead of Riff being dominant, it appears throughout ST that Nation is the dominate one, not Cosmo. But, that's something for another colomn...
