Dear Nurse Ansalong:
At the end of Eddie's song, when Frank is locking Rocky in the cage, I can clearly hear a woman screaming something in the background. It's not Columbia, but the camera cuts to her, and her mouth doesn't match up with what's being said. (It looks like she's just generally moaning or whatever). So my question is. . . who the hell is screaming?

Karyn, I've been trying to find what you were talking about and I believe that the scream that you're referring to is coming from possibly one of the Trannies or from Columbia as she rolls around with Eddie. There is a lot of noise in that part of the scene and it's hard to tell sometimes exactly where some of the sounds are coming from. This problem tends to come from what is called "looping". During a film's post production process, some of the performers will be called back to rerecord lines of dialogue that for some reason didn't come out right during the original filming. Also, they'll record bits, like screams, to add to the soundtrack of the scene. If you watch Columbia during the end of Hot Patootie as Eddie is being killed, she's screaming loudly and continually, but when she ends up on camera, her mouth never matches up. Then, as Frank leaves the freezer and drops the pick axe on the ground, she suddenly stops screaming, almost in mid-breath. I hope that I've answered your question or at least helped you understand why it can be difficult to get it right. Maybe someday they'll make an "RHPS-Special Edition" and Nell can go back and rerecord the screams so that they match up correctly. I guess anything is possible nowadays... ; )
