Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I would like to know if there is an underlying message to the RHPS? I mean, I was told that there was one, and it was that Frank'N'Furter portrays gay people all over the world, that is why he was cast as an 'alien'... and that it also has a link to when he sings the line "outside in the rain..." from "I'm Going Home"... that he is outside in the rain because he was not hetro. What do you think?

Insane, to me, the underlying message of RHPS can be summed up in a phrase taken directly from the movie, "Don't dream it. Be it." The idea that you can be anything that you want to be is a very liberating attitude for the person. To be whatever you truely believe in your heart can release you from a lot of stress and pain in your life. Frank follows this mantra and imparts his belief on everyone that watches the film. He might not live his life the same way that Brad and Janet do, but, as long as it is what he feels is right for him, then he shouldn't be ashamed of himself. And, the same can go for the rest of us in the "real world".
