Dear Nurse Ansalong:
In Shock Treatment, why does Bert say "They should be sent to the Danube at dawn"?
-Nation

Nation, like RHPS, there are references to the possibility that characters have a past linked to Nazi Germany. In RHPS, it's Dr. Scott, and, in ST, it's Bert. In the original versions of ST, Bert's part was actually meant for Dr. Scott, but it was changed between script drafts. It would appear that Bert has done some bad things in his past, and, at that moment, the memories came back to him. Like many other story threads, the idea of characters with cloudy past histories runs through both films.
