Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I'm a 15 year old girl, and I'm totally in love with this guy. He said he liked me and asked me out, but I never gave him a real answer and I think he resents me for it. But I recently found out that he's gay. At least, that's what everyone has been telling me. I wasn't sure if it was true, but then I heard him tell my friend about this guy that he's in love with. He acts so weird toward me. Sometimes he'll be nice and talk to me, but other times he'll completely ignore me or be really cold to me. And sometimes I notice him staring at me during class. I'm sick of it. I'm not very good friends with him, and there's no way I can talk to him about this. I've tried to get over him, but nothing works. I still love him. How can I forget about him?

Raven, it's never easy to forget about someone that you love. Feelings like that can run deep and could take some time to work out. If you just want to get over him, then you could just try to spend time away from him. You said that you aren't best friends with him, so it doesn't seem like it would be hard to stay away from him. About him continuing to seem "interested" in you, it could be that he's not quite sure about his feelings and could still be attracted to you. At the age that the two of you appear to be at, many people experience new feelings towards others that they've never had before. This could cause a person to seem interested at one point and then distant the next. If you really want to "forget" him, then you should probably spend some time away from where he is. Maybe in this new place you'll find someone new...
