Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I'm another of those people in Albany, NY who wants to get a cast going. We have a bunch of people who are interested in playing different parts, but no theater. There aren't enough people here who want ROCKY in the theater to get a decent petition going, and all the Theater Managers hate me for constantly asking them about it. What should I do?
-Zircon
Zircon, the first thing that you should do is to sit down with the rest of your "cast" and plan out how to get a theatre. If the Theatre Managers are sick of hearing you ask about showing the film, get other castmembers to do it. This could give you new ways to get attention and also show the Managers that you aren't the only person that is interested. If there is a college near you, talk to the Student Activities Director about showing the film on campus. You might not start off in a big hall, but, depending on the audience count that you get, you could use it to get the Theatre Managers to notice you. Another thing that you could try is to set up petitions in different ways. You could do the normal written petition and also set one up online. You could have links to the local theatres web sites or to the Theatre Managers email address so that the fans messages could get to the Managers directly. As a last resort, you could try looking at theatres in towns near you that would show the film. You might have to drive a little, but it could give you the theatre that you've always wanted. Good luck...
