Dear Nurse Ansalong:
Do you think net realationships can actualy ever lead to anything? I mean you can care about someone you've met on the net more then anyone but is it just a waste of time and typing or is it possible that it could become more serious and very long term?

Nation, any relationship takes work. You could be perfect for each other, but, if the two of you don't try to keep the relationship going, it could still wind up ending badly. The same can be said for internet relationships. Internet relationships have added problems due to the possible distance between the two people. You need to be able to trust that the other person is being faithful and honest to you. You also have to be prepared to place the same ideas and restrictions on yourself. All this being said, I would say that an internet relationship can become something more than just a typed flirt. One of the nice things about meeting someone over the internet is that you get to meet their mind first. From chatting or emailing, you'll learn about the person from the inside out. I'd advice that you do be careful if you're thinking about entering into something with someone over the internet. While you might think that this person is perfect, the other person could be lying about themselves to try and gain your affections. But, like in all relationships, you take the same chance of failure with each and every person that you try to date. If there is a special friend that you have over the internet and if you care about this person a lot, than I'd say that you might want to give it a try...
