Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I am a 28 year old male who has just recently (January) returned to watching Rocky. I enjoy this very much and just recently have become more and more involved with the cast (this week is the first week for me on lights!). It provides me friends and someplace to go to on Saturday night. Well, I have two problems; 1) How in the hell do I get other people to a show, especially if they are scared at what might be going on there? 2) I am afraid that if i start up a relationship with a female on the cast, if something might not work out, I could not go to the show. Should I leave things as they are or take a chance?

Seth, it's very good to have you back watching the film and helping out your local cast. And, about your problems... 1) I think it's been fairly well documented in this colomn how totally nervous I was going to see Rocky for the first time. Because of the mystique that surrounds the film, everyone seems to believe that anything goes at a theatre showing. To help get your friends to go, you might want to try to talk them through what they're afraid of. Tell them to ask you any questions about the show and you'll answer them truthfully. This way, they'll know what to expect and they'll get their information from someone that they trust. 2) Relationships within a Rocky cast can be very difficult. The stresses and strains seem to be amplified when you're within a cast. I've been through a couple myself, so I know what I'm talking about. But, like with anything, I would tell you that, if you really are attracted to this person, then you should go for it. If you don't, then you might find yourself regretting it for the rest of your life. And don't let one person put you off from seeing Rocky. If it wasn't "meant to be", then you shouldn't let that drive you away from all of your other friends in the cast and the good times that you have there.
