Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I live in a small town, which is a very long distance from a theater that shows RHPS. What I would like to do is to see if I could get one started in the local theater here in town. How in the hell would I go about doing a thing like that? And how would I be able to not piss off any other hard-core Rocky fans?
-Dork-boy
Dork-boy, the first thing that you need to do is to talk to the theatre manager. Ask him if he would be interested in showing the film. When you talk to him, explain your feelings about the film and how you would be willing to help out. Tell him that you'll do things like design and hand out flyers for the show, and, if you have enough friends and neighbors that are interested, that you'll try to organize a live cast for the performance. With it getting closer to Halloween, many theatres will be looking for a special promotion for that night and your show could be what this person is looking for. Also, you could use the attendance from the first night to try and get a longer run at the theatre. The way that I've found to not piss off any hardcore Rocky fans is to get them involved. Many of these people could be a great help to you in having the show that you want. Keeping them involved will make them more interested in your show and could help to bring in a larger audience.
