Kyle-Lynn, there are many people in this world who are only really interested in making themselves feel better. If, by telling a girl that they "totally care about them" just to get her to sleep with him, they can get a little pleasure, then they'll usually do it and worry about the consequenses later. When I was going to high school, there were many guys running around who acted just like this. They hit puberty and all of a sudden they can't live without using "their new toy". There really isn't a clear cut answer to your question. For some it's pleasure, for others it's power, and for some others it's the only way that they know to get affection from the opposite sex. The thing that you definately don't want to do is start to believe that all men act like that. I have to admit that, in my life, I've met a lot of adult males who act just like this. That being said, there are also many men who actually do care and have feelings. Getting burned by the other idiots makes it even more important to hold on to the good ones...
