How come there are no references to RHPS in ST? Is ST really a sequel or just an excuse for O'Brien to write another musical using his previous heroes?

Curious, there are a couple small reference to RHPS in ST. The initials for Farley Flavors match Frank 'n Furter, and, if the original casting of Tim Curry in the part would have remained, their goals of taking over the world and personality traits would be similar. Also, if you watch the "Look What I Did To My Id" scene, there are many different RHPS props and costuming pieces scattered around the room. Those are the only links that I know of, but if anyone out there has any more, feel free to send them my way and I'll be sure to add them to this list...
