Dear Nurse Ansalong:
Umm...hi...is this thing on? Ok, this is my dilemma. I am 12 years old and possibly the only 12 year old in all RHPS history to have the complete RHPS script (with audience participation) in the back of her binder. Let me get straight to the point. I would like to rent a copy of Rocky Horror and show it at my sleep-over with all my friends calling out the AP lines. But is copying the script illegal? I am not making any money whatsoever off of this (Well, kind of...we're going to see where the seven dwarves are (There's a light...) and if nobody can find them I get $5), so is it still illegal? HELP! :"D
-Dazz

Dazz, the legality of copying things off of the web is kind of strange. In the past year, there has been major problems with web sites that used copyrighted material without asking. Web sites on The X-Files and the band Oasis were being ordered to remove any copyrighted material from their sites or face legal consequences. The ROCKY HORROR world seems to be, at least for now, more open. Many sites have copyrighted pictures, but Fox hasn't really done anything about it. They probably see it as a free advertisement on all of the fan's sites. If you print an AP script from someone's web site for your enjoyment, then there isn't really a problem. If you took that script and placed it on your own site claiming to be it's creator, then there would be a problem. If you take something from someone's site for your site, you should always give a credit to the place that you got it. So don't worry about it. And about the Seven Dwarves, play close attention to the scenes following There's A Light also. I've been told that they might put in an appearance there too * hint, hint *...
