Dear Nurse Ansalong:
Ok, um, I'm like, really obsessed with Little Nell. Mostly as Nurse Ansalong. I'm a 13 year old girl. Everyday I bring in pictures I printed, and everyone thinks it's really weird. I'm not obsessed like I want to be "with" her. I'm obsessed like I want to "be" her. I doubt this is normal. My parents think I'm really weird, my friends think I'm really weird, and don't even talk to me about my teachers. I don't know what to do. Plus, where I live, only one person has even seen RHPS, and forget ST. And the one person that's seen RHPS, she used to be my best friend, but I think I freaked her out, cause she won't come near me now. Everyone here in Hicksville, where I live is really overprotective. No one wants to have anything to do with me. A lot of people think I'm doing this for attention, but I'm not. I really, truly, seriously think about RHPS, Little Nell, and ST all the time. If you have any advice for what to do, please help me!!
-Little Nell Wannabe

Wannabe, you're a girl after my own heart. Like I've said before, one of the main reasons that I got into RHPS in the first place was Little Nell's performance as Columbia. She seemed so amazing on the screen that I couldn't take my eyes off of her. While I am a big fan, there is one thing that I learned and that you will too. RHPS is the most successful "cult film" in history. While there are thousands of people around the world who love the film, there is an equal number that do not. There are people in my family that I've tried to explain the whole RHPS phenomenom to, but they still don't understand it. It's probably harder for you since it appears you live out in the country. If you're a fan of the films, then don't be afraid to let people know. When I watch sporting events and see men with their faces painted blue and their shirts off in the freezing cold, I sometimes wonder why people get so confused about RHPS. One other thing... Always remember that there is a fine line between "fan" and "fanatic". If you are a fan, like myself, of Little Nell, then don't let anyone's reactions to you tell you that you're wrong. That being said, don't let your adoration mask the real person inside you. If there is one thing to be learned from RHPS, it's "Don't Dream It... Be It". You are free to be whomever you want to and to express yourself in any way that you like. Let your own personality come out and don't pay attention to the people who call you weird.
