Dear Nurse Ansalong:
I just recently found out about ROCKY and now I'm obsessed. This is normal for me...I have a very obsessive personality. I have had two of my friends come to watch it with me. One of them loved it and the other one hated it. The one who hated it, who happens to be my best friend, has bad-mouthed the movie and everything else to all my other friends and no one else will give it a chance. I want to stay friends with all of them and everything, but I don't know how to make them more open-minded or at least shut my best friend up!

Wannabe, there is probably nothing in this world that everyone agrees on. This fact appears blindingly whenever you talk to a group of people about RHPS. For every person who loves it, there is always someone who hates it. While your best friend disliked it, you also have a friend who liked it. If your best friend starts to put the film down, then try and counter with what you and your other friend think. This added voice could help sway the group to your side. If you're friend doesn't seem to want to stop, then you might want to try to ignore what your best friend is saying. For many people, the only reason why they say something bad is to try and get a reaction out of someone. If you take away that response and make your friend think that you're not being bothered, then your friend might lose interest. I know I've said this before, but you should never let anyone dictate your decisions to you. If there is a film, band, or whatever else that you like, then you shouldn't let a "friend" talk you into believing otherwise. We are all free creatures to believe and enjoy what we want. Don't let your best friend ruin ROCKY for you. And, if you want to open up the minds of your friends, then you might want to invite them over one day and slip in your copy or ROCKY. Once they actually get to see the film and not just hearing what your best friend is saying about it, you might be surprised by how many really like the film. With that many voices on your side, your best friend will have to be quiet.
