Dear Nurse Ansalong:
There is this girl that I really like. The problem is, she has been going out with one of my best friends for over a year, and it does not look like they will break up anytime soon. Don't get me wrong... I'm happy that my friend has someone, but what do I do with these feelings?
-Eddo
Eddo, there are times that everyone wishes that they could turn off their feelings. It seems like life would be so much easier if we didn't have to feel all of the time. But, we can't, so we just have to survive with them. I know just how you're feeling. When I first joined a cast, I totally fell for one of the Transylvanians. I thought about him night and day. When I decided to try out to be a Transylvanian, the person who trained me was his girlfriend. I wanted to dislike her so much, but the more we were together, the more of a friend she became. Then I saw how much in love they were and I felt so bad for having those feelings for him. It took me a couple months, but I finally moved past him. You might have to do a little surviving for awhile. You might want to think of somewhere else to vent the feelings that you have for her. If you're a member of a cast, then put more of your energy into that. If you draw or paint, then try to create a new masterpiece. Whatever it is, it will help you to move on. Something else you might want to try is to see if there is someone interested in you. Feelings tend to blind us sometimes from the real truth about the world around us. There might just be a special person trying to catch your eye as we speak. It will probably be hard, but it's possible. Good luck.
